JCM has a storied history that spans decades and several continents. From a single operation in Osaka in 1955, the company has grown to an international leader, protecting and securing clients' cash assets in every corner of the world.
- 1955 Japan Cash Machine Inc., Ltd, founded in Japan
- 1959 Japan Cash Machine begins manufacturing cash registers in Japan
- 1974 JCM begins to manufacture and sell electronic cash registers
- 1981 JCM begins to manufacture and sell Yen bill validators
- 1986 JCM begins to manufacture and sell US dollar bill validators
- 1987 JCM Gold HK is established in Hong Kong
- 1988 JCM American begins operating in the United States
- 1988 JCM builds token dispensers for use in pachinko parlors
- 1988 JCM American releases world’s first side-mounted bill validators for gaming devices
- 1990 JCM American partners with IGT to imbed bill validators in video lottery machines
- 1993 JCM is listed on the new 2nd section of the Osaka Securities Exchange
- 1998 JCM is certified to ISO 9001
- 1998 World Bill Acceptor (WBA®) introduced
- 1999 JCM and American Gaming Association hold first Golf Classic fundraiser for National Council for Responsible Gaming. To date, annual event has raised more than $600,000.
- 1999 JCM opens German office in Dusseldorf
- 2000 JCM is listed on the new 2nd section of the Tokyo Securities Exchange
- 2001 JCM American forges relationship with US Dept. of Treasury and begins consulting on currency and anti-counterfeiting measures
- 2003 Intelligent Cash Box (ICB®) introduced
- 2003 Sentry® bezel introduced, receives patent
- 2004 JCM is certified to ISO 14001
- 2004 JCM is listed on the first section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange and the Osaka Securities Exchange
- 2004 UK office established
- 2004 AD Series introduced, receives patent
- 2005 Universal Bill Acceptor (UBA®) introduced, receives patent
